First Aid at Work is now required by Law since 2009

In 2009 the Health and Safety Executive brought in a change to the legal requirements for all employers with regards to first aid at work.

There is now a legal requirement to conduct a First Aid at Work Needs Assessment. This assessment will determine the numbers of First Aiders you require, the number, type and location of first aid kits required and the type of training course your staff will have to attend.

Previously there has been much confusion over the requirements for providing first aiders, first aid kits, and the level of training needed, but if you contact Open Airway Training, we can assist with this.

If you are unsure as to your requirements under the new legislation, please contact us. We offer free guidance to any attendees of our training courses for the period of their qualification. If you book a first aid training course at your location we will undertake an onsite assessment for you FREE of charge.

There are now four types of course available:

First Aid at Work (three day H.S.E. accredited)
Emergency First Aid at Work (one day H.S.E. accredited)
Emergency First Aid for the Appointed Person (one day to remain legal for low risk organisations)
Emergency First Aid Paediatric/School Supervisors (two day course for those working with children- OFSTED approved)
