First Aid for Paediatric Supervisors

Course Introduction

This two day course in Emergency First Aid is an extension of the Emergency First Aid for the Appointed Person course and has been developed for those who are responsible for the supervision of children and babies (Ofsted guidelines). This will be of particular interest to Child Minders and Creche Assistants, Playgroup Personnel and anyone responsible for youth organisations.

Although the majority of first aid procedures are similar to those used in adult first aid, there are substantial differences in the protocols for Resuscitation, Choking, Casualty Handling and Incident Management.

Course Aims

The aim of this course is to provide those persons with a sound knowledge and understanding of first aid procedures when working with children and babies, along with the ability to recognise and treat many childhood illnesses and conditions.

Subject to ongoing assessment all successful candidates will receive a Health and Safety Executive recognised certificate, Emergency First Aid in the Workplace for the Appointed Person, valid for a period of three years.
